Briq AI helps ACME Constructors complete job setups in half the time.

Missed data entry from time-consuming manual processes was causing knock-on effects in project reporting and action for ACME. Briq automated the process for them.

Background

ACME Constructors is an industrial contractor working out of St Louis, Missouri, with an annual construction volume of $60 million. Founded in 1947, they are 100% employee owned and complete over 700 projects annually.

Challenge

“We were manually typing the same information three times into different systems, and it didn't make any sense. So, Briq has really helped us with that.”
Jenna King

ACME uses many systems to track their project performance across different departments, but none of this technology synced intuitively. That meant there were gaps in their collected data, and employees were wasting time manually entering duplicate information. The process stretched the ACME team thin and prevented them from working on more high-value, strategic work.

Solution

“We saved time and money by implementing Briq. And it wasn’t a huge implementation — it was easy”
Jenna King

Briq worked with ACME to understand what their processes were and what they wanted to achieve. Then, mapped out what the new processes would be with Briq implemented. This involved gaining a deep understanding of how everyone at ACME worked now, what systems needed to be connected to Briq, and what information had to be pushed and pulled within those systems. The goal was to use AI and write automations to relieve the time spent on repetitive and time-consuming tasks.

The first automation Briq worked on was ACME’s Job Setup. The way it worked was a project coordinator would first set up the job in Sage 300, which to do properly, required the information to be entered in three separate places in the system. Then the same information would be used to manually create the job in Procore and ToolWatch. That’s five separate tasks to complete. In addition, the information wouldn’t sync between these systems immediately — and data would sometimes be missing — so more time would be wasted as the project coordinator waited for the information to update. This slow and disconnected way of working meant a higher chance of incorrect data, leading to bad reports in the future.

Now, the team at ACME has a more simplified process. The information is filled out into an Excel template and uploaded to Briq. Then Briq’s Automation uses RPA (robotic process automation) technology to update the job information into the other systems accurately in real-time.

Briq’s automations have saved us 30,000 minutes or 500 hours of work over the last two years. That’s nearly three months of work!

Outcome

“We've posted record profits in the past two years. I don't think we would have been able to do that without Briq. We were able to allocate resources to other projects and not waste time on little tasks.”

Jenna King

Implementing Briq allowed ACME to expand and grow as a company thanks to our AI automating ACME’s data entry, eliminating human error, and improving overall data cleanliness. Briq’s RPA technology has saved ACME three months of manual data entry work in the two years they’ve been using the software, allowing their team to focus on the bigger picture and, in that time, achieve record profits.

ACME and Briq are currently working on an executive dashboard that will give the executive team a high-level overview of all projects, business health, and key measurables. Briq is also building a per diem automation for ACME to streamline the workflow and eliminate duplicate data entry for this business expense.
