Hailey: “Sam, tell me about what you do at Briq!”

Samantha: I’m an Account Executive on the east coast team. I’m on the sales side of things. I sell the Briq platform and opportunities for people to become our partners and clients. We’re in a unique position since Briq is still relatively new to the industry. It’s a brand new product category. So we don’t just sell the platform, we are also educators in the marketplace.

Hailey: “You’ve been at Briq for 16 months now, what has your experience been like with our company culture?”

Samantha: First of all, it’s been great! The culture has evolved significantly over the past year. I didn’t know what to expect since we are remote-first, but I’ve made some good friends here. Even in remote work, there are people that you talk to everyday. Though I haven’t met some of them in person, they are still my coworkers and people I trust. The people team is constantly trying to evolve what culture means in a  remote-first workplace. It’s always fun and interesting to see what they’re coming up with. I’m incredibly and pleasantly surprised with what remote-first culture means for Briq.

Hailey: “The sales department has been crushing their goals! How does it feel to be a part of a team that has so much momentum?”

Samantha: It’s fun! I’ve been saying for 8 months that 2022 is our year at Briq. It’s such an exciting time to be a part of the company and the sales organization. Sales is funny though since individually you’re always looking for ways to accomplish the next goal. You’re never done trying to accomplish, even when you just won. We have a really solid team and we win together. Now we’re thinking about what we’re going to do this quarter and get to that next goal.

Hailey: “We love having you as an orientation presenter! Why is it important for you to be a part of our Briqster Orientation program?”

Samantha: One of the things it does is keep me on my game. In orientation, I can practice  my Sales deck and how I’m talking about Briq as a whole. Recently we’ve started to get more unique questions from new hires that we haven’t heard so it keeps me on my toes. I also love the fact that I can get a little bit of facetime with everybody who comes through the door of Briq. You know, when I first started at Briq, you pretty much knew everybody who worked here. That’s not the case anymore as we continue to grow. A lot of times with remote-first you can get isolated into your department and the people you are working with day to day, but it’s really nice to get to do orientation and say hi to everybody we’ve hired!

Hailey: “Tell me about your remote life at Briq. Where do you like to work from?”

Samantha: I mostly work from my home office! I only spend time in there during the workday. For me, it’s like a space outside of my house that creates the feeling of going into an office. My dog sits with me all day too which is fantastic! A couple weeks throughout the year, I’ll go back to Wisconsin to visit my family and work from there. I don’t live close to my family, so it’s nice to have the flexibility to go and see them.

Hailey: “We’re hiring for many roles right now! What would you like to tell folks about what it’s like to be a Briqster?”

Samantha: I would definitely encourage working for Briq! Part of what I do as a member of the orientation crew is share why I love working here, it’s a great environment. Briq is filled with opportunities! My work here never r feels stagnant because everyday there’s something that I’m learning. To work in a remote-first position, you have to be motivated and willing to ask for help. What’s really great about Briq is that the people here are more than willing to help you succeed in your position and in your career!
